About the Service

Fill Dirt, Compaction & Soil Stabilization, Done Right

Fill that is just dumped will settle. Fill placed in thin lifts and compacted with the right roller will not. We choose the material, control the moisture and compact each lift, with proof rolls and checks that show the ground is ready.

Where soils are soft or wet, we remove bad material, add geotextile and stone, or stabilize the subgrade so the structure above has something solid under it.

Music City Excavation brings fill dirt, compaction & soil stabilization to homes, farms and businesses in Nashville and across 16 Middle Tennessee cities.

Questions About Fill Dirt, Compaction & Soil Stabilization

Still have a question?

Call 615-357-7797

Why does fill settle?

Uncompacted fill, organic material in the fill and water movement all cause settling. Compacting in thin lifts with clean material greatly reduces it.

Do I need geotechnical testing?

For larger structures and some soils, testing is a good idea or is required. We can work with your engineer and follow the compaction specs you are given.

Can you fix ground that has already settled?

Often yes. Depending on the problem, we can add fill, regrade, replace soft areas or stabilize the ground.
