About the Service

Gravel Driveways & Culverts, Done Right

Strong driveways are built from the bottom: cleared and graded subgrade, a base of crushed stone, a crowned surface and ditches or culverts that move water out. We build for the loads you drive over it, from family cars to heavy equipment.

We also repair washed-out and rutted drives, replace failed culverts and add headwalls or riprap where the water comes through fast. Gravel can be a final surface, or a good base for asphalt or concrete later.

Music City Excavation brings gravel driveways & culverts to homes, farms and businesses in Nashville and across 16 Middle Tennessee cities.

Questions About Gravel Driveways & Culverts

Still have a question?

Call 615-357-7797

How much gravel does a driveway need?

It depends on length, width and depth. Many drives use several inches of compacted stone over a prepared subgrade. Use our Gravel and Fill Calculator for a quick estimate.

Do I need a culvert?

If a ditch or stream crosses the drive, usually yes. We size it for the water it needs to carry and set it to the right grade.

Can you pave over a gravel driveway later?

Often yes, if the base is built properly. We can build it so it is ready for asphalt or concrete.
