Rock Removal and Breaking for Tough Middle Tennessee Ground
Limestone and hard rock are common in Middle Tennessee, and they can stop a standard dig cold. We break, remove and haul rock with the right hydraulic hammers and excavators.

Rock Removal & Breaking, Done Right
Rock turns a simple trench into a demanding job. We use excavators with hydraulic hammers to break ledges, boulders and shallow bedrock, then load and haul the spoil or reuse it for fill and base where it is suitable.
We plan for rock before the first dig when we can, and we tell you honestly when we find it so there are no surprises. Rock removal can be part of a foundation, a trench, a driveway or a pond.
Music City Excavation brings rock removal & breaking to homes, farms and businesses in Nashville and across 16 Middle Tennessee cities.

Walk the Site and Plan
We visit, look at the soil, the slope, the access and the water, and give you a clear, free estimate with options.
Mark, Permit and Prepare
We have underground utilities located, help with the permits and erosion control your project needs and plan where the dirt goes.
Dig, Build and Clean Up
Our crew does the work, keeps the site safe and tidy, restores what we disturb and walks the finished job with you.
How do you know if there is rock on my lot?
Sometimes surface outcrops tell the story, and sometimes it only shows up as we dig. We look at the site, ask about neighboring projects and talk with you about the possibility before we start.
Does rock make a project cost more?
It can, because it takes more time and heavier machines. We explain the extra work clearly, with options, as soon as we know about it.
Is there blasting?
We focus on hydraulic breaking. If a project needs more than that, we will discuss options with you and the proper licensed professionals, and local rules apply.
